About Photosofpeople.ca

I’ve been behind a camera for as long as I can remember (shoutout to the 4-H club that got me started when I was 12!).

For me, photography is about presence. It’s about being in the room, observing, and capturing moments as they unfold without interrupting them.

My background in movement and trauma-informed work shapes how I photograph. I understand bodies and nervous systems. I know how to put people at ease and capture them as they truly are, not as they think they’re supposed to look. That means no stiff poses or overly staged shots.

I look for the real moments: the quiet focus before a ride, the laugh shared between friends, the pride when someone tries something new.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of bringing this approach to event photography across Calgary’s tourism and culture community, working both as a paid contractor and a volunteer. You may have seen my work featured by organizations including: Calgary Stampede, Heritage Park, The Confluence, TELUS Spark, Globalfest, Calgary Folk Fest (where I serve on the social media team), Calgary Expo, Strathmore Stampede, Pete Knight Days, Okotoks Pro Rodeo, Flores la Due Ladies Luncheon, and Sunalta Community Association.

I also photograph headshots, private events, and family portraits. These may receive less public attention, but they are deeply meaningful to the people in them.

Whether I’m documenting a live event, a community gathering, or a private celebration, my approach remains the same: show up, stay present, and deliver images that feel intimate and alive.

I’m always open to connecting with organizations and individuals who value authentic storytelling. Let’s create something real.
